I hope my comments in that thread weren't seen as threatening to anyone. I was trying to steer clear of politics.

I agree Todd, there was a good effort to get back on topic and lay off the politics, that I do appreciate.

The thread hit a low point when a post was made that contained personal insults and threats, as well as some nice creative profanity and sexual innuendo.
I removed that post, closed the topic and moved it to the archives and put it to bed.

The post was made by the same person that has threatened me via email on two separated occasions.
I am taking the high road, and will not lash back in public, and will deal with this in a private manner, if it ever moves beyond threats.

Lance, this seems to be somewhat of a nightmare for you and i'm gonna pray for this situation to end peacefully so you can enjoy the following days, i invite other believers to do the same thing.

I happened to mention in that thread, with respect to the title and images, that if people felt strongly about the images then mabye people could use the power of the numbers in these forums for petitions or letter writing concerning these issues were concerned,
"Once a mutual set of goals was decided upon, by consensus, in another area of the site"
At least that was what I intended.
I certainly never intended it to spiral into a verbal venom fest, I suggested it in passing and tuned out when it seemd like there was no interest in pursuing it further, but I guess here was a bit of conjecture after I left.
I will refrain from making any more "suggestions", even in passing, and refrain from commenting on potentially inflammitory subjects any further.

Lance you neednt tolerate any abuse of any kind, and do what you deem neccesary to those who voilate your sanctity.

I don't see a need for anyone posting in that thread to apologize. There was a post after mine (now removed) that made no sense and was borderline psychotic and nothing to do with logging practices. I assume this post was the problem. The post made mysterious reference to political assassinations and a threat to report the OLF to homeland security. While rude posts cannot be pre-empted before the fact, nut cases can be dealt with. If my observation is correct this person has posted since. I'm not intending to stir things up, but forums open to public posting are vulnerable to nut cases...it happens, will happen again and requires tight, posted, enforced rules to nip early.
